David John Tilley.

Calligraphic 'swirl' motif

of Burbage

Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 9th January 2022 aged 81 years.

Beloved husband of Mary, cherished father to John and Sharon, doting grandfather to Ayesha and Brandon.

David Tilley Snr., recognisable by his shock of white curly hair, was a proud member of the Burbage community. He worked alongside his family at Tilley’s garage for forty years and in retirement was a familiar face either supporting the development of Hinckley Rugby Football Club, enjoying being an active member of the Burbage Gardening Club and O5O Club, or working down on his allotment.

Loyal and true to his family, friends and community David has been described repeatedly as a lovely, lovely man. A man who was always willing to give his time, kind words and energy to those that needed. A man who neither asked or expected anything for himself. He will be remembered most as a true gentleman.

David’s funeral service will take place at The Heart of England Crematorium on Tuesday 8th February 2022 at 1:15pm. The Wake will be held at the Hinckley Rugby Football Club. All are welcome.

Family Flowers only please. Any donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the “Donations Fund” which will be directed, in memory of David to The British Heart Foundation c/o G.Seller ‘Independent Funeral Directors’, 75 Upper Bond Street, Hinckley, LE10 1RH. Tel: 01455 637457
