Thinking and talking about your own death can be hard. We’ve put together the booklet below to help you go through your wishes that we can keep on file for you. We’d also be more than happy to arrange to meet in one of our offices or in the comfort of your own home to go through everything in detail. This is a completely free of charge service.
We actively encourage everyone to start a conversation about their funeral wishes. This will spare your loved one’s the uncertainty of what you actually want. It could also give them comfort knowing what parts, if any, you’d like them to decide for you at the time. For example, this could be deciding some floral tributes or a piece of music that evokes a memory of you. Or you may want to decide everything in advance, it is entirely up to you.
A funeral should be a reflection of the person that’s passed away, no matter how simple or unique that is. Your funeral doesn’t have to be traditional, it can be whatever you want it to be. Your funeral is as much about you, as it is about your loved ones saying goodbye.
We strongly advise to not include your funeral wishes in your will, as it may not be read until after your funeral has taken place.

The Barsby Service Chapel was designed and built on site in Hinckley to allow you to have the funeral service in one place with complete flexibility to have the funeral you want, without the time restrictions.
The funeral can take place completely at the crematorium of your choice.
The funeral can take place at a wide range of venues. This could include a race track for someone who was a motorsport enthusiast.
A choice of the beautiful black or white horses, with the option of matching outrider.
There are options of having a white, silver or black hearse to accompany them.
We can arrange a variety of Motorcycle Hearses. These include a Triumph Bonneville, Triumph Thunderbird, Suzuki Hayabusa or the Harley Davidson Electra Glide (pictured).
We can arrange for a Land Rover hearse to be your choice of transport.
We can provide catering and catering attendants to look after everything. This can take place at the onsite Barsby Catering Suite, at other venues of your choice or in your own home.
We can provide a wide range of bespoke and personal funeral stationery. These include orders of service, attendance cards, memorial portrait photos, memory boards, bookmarks and memorial cards.
Live music makes a real difference to the funeral. There is a wide variety of options for live music. These could include a singer, a choir, a harpist or a brass band to name just a few.
Dove releases can be arranged for the funeral. This can range from a single dove to 20. You have the choice of whether you'd like to personally release them or whether they are all released independently.
We can provide a wide range of floral tributes. We have a comprehensive brochure that your funeral director can go through with you to select what tribute you'd like.
We can create a personal firework display after the funeral service or reception. This can be made to a piece of music.
Fireworks can also be made to enclose your loved one's cremated remains inside.
You can be safe in the knowledge that we are here to look after your family after your funeral as well. We have a complete aftercare service that provides Bereavement Support, which is delivered through 1 to 1 care and bereavement groups. It all depends on what your loved ones need, it is there without any pressure or obligation and whenever your loved ones need it.

The Higham Seagrass
The Higham Seagrass Coffin is woven by hand using yarns of seagrass and finished with a cane top and bottom. The seagrass material used for our coffins is grown in coastal paddy fields and flooded with seawater throughout the year. The fields are carefully managed to promote a continued cycle of growth and renewability. The coffin is finished with a cotton lining, quilt and pillow. Shown top.
Osbaston Wicker
The Osbaston Willow Coffin have a slightly pink and golden look, they are hand-worked by traditional basket weavers using age-old methods that have changed little in over 2000 years. The coffin is finished with a cotton lining, quilt and pillow. Shown bottom.
