I joined G. Seller in October 2011 and proudly became the 3rd generation of the Barsby family to come into the company. I had previously set up my own business in sports nutrition at the age of 18. I started in the memorial department, learning all aspects of memorial masonry before progressing to become the Memorial Masonry Manager. I became a qualified memorial fixer and memorial safety inspector. In 2014 my wife Amy, moved into the family business to take over my role. This meant that I could have a more holistic role within the firm, allowing me to arrange and conduct funerals, be involved with Pre-Paid Funeral Plans, Accounts and the overall development of the business.
I am a sports and car fanatic. I am an avid Leicester City fan and have a season ticket with my father, David. I also love to watch Rugby, Cricket, Formula 1 and Boxing.
Your care and compassion at what was a horrendous time, losing our baby, during, and still now, will always stay with myself and my family. Joseph, Amy, Kevin & the rest of the team are brilliant, and you should be very proud of what you have achieved and what you will continue to achieve in the future.
I joined G. Seller in 2014 after working in events from the age of 16. I was appointed Events Manager in a 5* hotel at the tender age of 19. I looked after events for Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Wembley, Wimbledon Tennis and Volvo cars. I am a qualified memorial safety inspector, manage the memorial department and I look after Pre-Paid Funerals.
I love to go skiing, keeping fit at the gym and enjoying a glass of wine with my friends. l also keep exceptionally busy looking after my young daughters, Alexa and Rosie.
Fantastic family-run funeral directors, showing the upmost respect to the families and loved ones of the deceased. When my grandad passed away, their approach was similar to family rather than business minded and we were extremely happy with their care and services. Taking into consideration the family’s thoughts, feelings, needs and how they can suit their needs. They are genuinely passionate about providing outstanding services and also supporting the local community around them.
I joined G. Seller in 1972. I trained to become an embalmer in London and became a qualified Funeral Director soon after. I have been the driving force behind the business for the last 40 years. In the last few years I’ve taken a step back from the day to day running of the business and allowed the younger generation to come to the fore. Although I still stay involved.
I like football and I’m a season ticket holder at Leicester City with my son, Joseph. I am an avid cook and quite often bring in homemade soup and bread to the office for everyone’s lunch.
The most remarkable thing is the consistency of the culture of the G Seller team. Whilst of course it's important to get the big moments right, its often the larger number of the smaller moments which really creates the experience for the customer. The way your colleague in reception greeted me when I came to hand in the paperwork, the kind words of encouragement that came from the ladies serving tea in the Chapel, the handshake, eye contact and extra squeeze at the Crematorium from your team when I was passed the flowers, the directions to the car park, the phone call with my Aunt in New Zealand who can't work her Samsung TV, I could go on.... these are just a few of the many examples of the small moments that really matter and are so clearly deeply culturally embedded in your organisation.
I joined G. Seller in 1993. I am a trained shorthand typist and secretary. I worked for Anglia Building Society, now known as the Nationwide Building Society and also for an estate agents. In January 2020, I took a step back from my role and look after my granddaughters Alexa and Rosie.
I am an avid traveller, in particular on cruise ships and enjoy ballroom dancing with my husband, David.

I originally joined G. Seller in February 1998 at the age of 17. After 14 years I moved on to be the Head of Operations at a large funeral conglomerate. I re-joined the family team again after 11 years away at the beginning of January 2023 and have 25 years’ experience in the funeral profession.

Dear Andy, We would like to thank you and all at Sellers for all the kindness and support given to us at a very difficult time. Everything you did for us was first class and we appreciated this very much.
Having suffered a close bereavement in my early teens, my decision to pursue a career in the Funeral Business was purely vocational. I joined G. Seller in 1984 on a Youth Training Scheme and trained as an embalmer, mentored by David Barsby.

Outside G. Seller, I fulfil my other important roles as a dad to my daughter and husband to my wife, and enjoy taking our motorhome away as a family for a weekend to explore.
I enjoy running and am a West Ham fan. Despite not growing up in the area I have found the community to be very welcoming, except maybe for a few language barriers particularly when discussing the particulars of the difference between a ‘bread roll’ and a ‘cob’.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making Mum’s funeral special and something we will remember always!
We just want to say thank you to you all for the help and support and compassion that you have showed us in preparing Mums funeral. It helped us immensely during a difficult time.
Thank you especially to you Joe, for being there every step of the way, it was much appreciated and you were always there to help with any questions, no matter how trivial. I’m sure Mum would have been happy with how everything went – I know we were.
