Im not great with words you know that Dad,

I miss you so much I sit in your car every day and play some of your favourite music.

Kurtis and Chris, you did your dad proud today, the number of people who showed up to pay their respects is a testament to what a lovely bloke Steve truly was. I have lots of memories of his many 'Stav-isms' and all the laughs we shared at work and on site. He is already missed by so many and his legacy will continue in you both.

Steve, Im not sure what to say, but one memory I will hold on to because it still makes me laugh, is the time we pranked you into believing a delivery of chickens was turnng up at a new store. You took it so well. There was no one more hard working, genuine and kind as you. You will be truly missed. Rest in peace.

Steve,

Growing up as one of Kurt’s best friends, I was fortunate to spend time and have many valuable conversations with you over the years. In more recent times we laughed and joked at the daily quirks and issues surrounding the construction industry, but our conversations always led to our common passion, cars!

I’ll fondly remember the times You, Kurt and I would be tinkering and washing cars on a weekend afternoon - good memories.

Thanks for being a great man who always was always there to offer good advice and a friendly chat.

Rest easy, Steve. You will be missed.

Chris

Kurtis & Christopher, Your Dad, Steve as you well was our friend for close to 50 years, we had a period where we lost contact but was never far from our minds and through mutual sleuthing, we finally found each other and connected again. We shared many great emails back and forth and kept ourselves informed on our mutual lives. Steve was a rare friend in our world, Your Grandparents and most of the Grainger Aunts and Uncles became our friends as well! I (Frank) have many great times in my memories, of after midnight shift breakfasts with your Dad, we had many great adventures. I will never think of Great cars (Trans Ams) or Great Britain without thinking of Steve. We are crushed by his passing and will hold him in our hearts! So sorry for you and your Families loss.

Steve, what a lovely fella to have as a neighbour. We miss seeing you polishing your car out in the back garden, and miss seeing you walking Cheyenne, you loved that Husky so much! Steak for her, Pizza for you! So sorry you had to leave so soon, much love to Kurt and your family. Rest peacefully Steve.
Love Julie, Pete, Joe & Lauren.

Such a friendly face around the office, nothing was too much trouble, no matter how busy you were you would always make time for a chat when we bumped into each other in the Pausa queue.
It seemed like only yesterday we waved you off for retirement, gone too soon but never forgotten.

Dad, you were my world, my teacher, and one of my best friends. I’m so grateful for every day we had together. Thank you for your strength, your kindness, and for letting me care for you when you needed me most.

I miss your voice, your humour, and your heart more than words can say. I love you always, and I hope you’re finally at peace.
