Very sad to lose such a dear friend. Although he was 80, it still felt too soon. Though I knew he was unwell, somehow I didn't see it coming. Perhaps it was because he always seemed so young at heart. His was a kind heart, full of love for Ali and his dear girls and their familes. I'll miss Paul's love for God, his perspective on the world, his knowledge of music and culture and his wonderful sense of humour. I'll miss his laugh. I know has gone home and is in a better place but I'm still full of grief and sadness. Life will never be quite the same without him. He was such an unusual and special person. Ultimately, I'll remember him as godly man and a good man, as a musician and an artist, who wasn't afraid to be honest about life and how he was feeling. Ali, their dear girls ('the sisterhood' !) and his family were such a great blessing to him. I hope that we, his friends were too. I will forever be in his and Ali's debt for their kindnesss and friendship. I can still hear the beautiful sound of their violins. Am so comforted that Paul is alive with Jesus and that, by the grace of God, we will meet again. Gone home but not forgotten and already very much missed.

I was so sorry to hear the sad news about Paul. I was a violinist with him in the BBC Midland Radio Orchestra and other freelance orchestras in the Midlands. He was a true gentleman and a fine violinist. I will always remember his lovely smile. Sending love to his family. I'm sorry I can't be at the service of thanksgiving but will be thinking of you all on the day.

Uncle Paul was a deep and thoughtful soul - humorous and humble, talented, spiritual, a shining light and very much loved. We were so glad to have him in the family fold again last January - he valued our annual get togethers. So to share stories, laughter and fish and chips one more time with him felt complete.

When I arrived in Oman in 2001, Paul was one of the violin tutors at ROSO. They lived in the Garden Court and I happily remember visiting them there socially when we were away from ROSO. Paul was friendly and very kind to me and all our students at work and I was so sorry when they returned to the UK. Paul was always considerate of everyone around him and we will miss him in our lives. Our condolences to Alison and family on their loss.

We feel so blessed that Paul and Alison came into our lives 25 years ago in Oman. Paul was a wonderful friend to us, and he has remained so throughout the years. We cherish the times we spent together, sharing hearts, meals with friends, and not to forget making music together—indescribable, so wonderful!
Thank you, dear Paul, see you in heaven!!
We wish Alison, the children, and the grandchildren much strength and courage in the coming period.

I was truly saddened to read that Paul is no longer with us.
Paul was an amazing man, patient, kind who loved his family deeply displaying all the attributes of his deep, living, Christian faith.
Sue and I were truly blessed that Paul, and Alison, with others, played the music so beautifully at our wedding in the early 90's.
Critically, Paul enriched my low level understanding of music which lives with me to this day - even though unfortunately that understanding is not reflected in my playing ability!
Until we meet and play music again in the heavenly realms.

My deepest condolences to Alison and all of the family. My heart and love goes out to you all. Paul was my amazing violin teacher for many years at school. I was extremely honoured to play with him in many concerts as the years went on into adult life. He was patient, kind and persevered with me. His legacy will be passed on through me and onto my students. I will deeply miss you Paul and you will always be in my heart. Rest in peace x
