Of Burbage passed away very suddenly at home on Sunday 14th March 2021, aged 68 years. Adored husband of Jane and amazing dad to Thomas, Nicholas, James and Lawrence and beloved Grumpy to his grandchildren.

Mike was well known and respected in the community and he had been running his family friendly business for the last 30 years. He had a reputation of being trustworthy and always willing to go ‘the extra mile’.

He dedicated his life to his family and dogs, they meant everything to him and the precious time he got to spend with them were always filled with laughter and merriment. Nothing was ever too much trouble for his family, filling all his free time making sure he provided them with everything they could ever need - years spent on cold rugby and football pitches supporting his sons, evenings running backwards and forwards to kickboxing and swimming. If it needed mending Dad was always there, if it needed building Dad was always there.

A wonderful knack of always knowing the right way to make everyone feel better, If you needed a cuddle Mike was always there, he gave the best cuddles, and the most sensible advice – even if it was not what you wanted to hear.

A lifelong car fanatic, He had recently added to his VW collection by buying ‘Big Red’ – a camper van that had already started his and Jane’s next set of adventures in. He was proud of the fact that this had joined join the other love of his life ‘Little Red Car’ a beautiful Golf he had restored to such pristine condition, He was asked to showcase her at the Classic Car show at the NIA and he loved every minute of it.

He will be missed beyond words.

“Love bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things,
Love never ends.”

Family flowers only please.

Donations in memory of Mike will be collected and sent to D.L.R.A.A (Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance) in gratitude for the care they provided to Mike and the family.
