As Treasurer of the Grittleton Chamber Music Society and also as a playing member, I worked closely with Judith during the last 3 years. She organised our music courses with calm professionalism and a sure-footed, even-handed but also good-humoured approach. We have received many testimonies to her kindness and patience. We will greatly miss her.

Judith organised the Grittleton Chamber Music courses for the last 3 years with calm professionalism and good humour and we have made a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support in her memory. The tributes that have poured in from our members are too numerous to include here, so here is just a tiny selection:
What dreadfully sad news to hear - Judith took over the administration of the Grittleton course with such a wonderful combination of energy and sensitivity, and she will be very much missed by all of us. Her life touched very many people, through her previous work, her teaching and all her many activities. I believe she was also very courageous - I had a brief conversation with her at the course last year when she mentioned she'd not been in the peak of health for some time, but I had no idea it would prove to be so serious - I think perhaps she had some idea herself but was not about to concern anyone else with it.
I am so terribly sad to hear this news. Judith was a shining light, always calm, smiling and with real grace, she made Grittleton a very happy place. Please do pass on messages of utmost sympathy to her husband, she will be terribly missed.
This is very sad and shocking news. Judith was a lovely person, always cheerful and helpful. She will be sorely missed.
I am absolutely horrified to hear this news and am distressed about it. Judith was a lovely, kind and thoughtful person with a great sense of humour.

I have made a donation to Macmillan in gratitude for their work and research.Knowing Judith as a fellow cellist in the Loughborough Orchestra was a delight. She was always friendly and had a great sense of humour. She will be missed.
