Ellen Simmonds

4th Mar 1922 — 2nd Apr 2021

An amazing and talented lady, who passed peacefully away on 2nd April 2021, aged 99 years.
Originally from India, lived in Lincoln, Plymouth and settled very happily in Hinckley 28 years ago and called it home.
A much loved wife of the late Louis, a lovely mum to Rae and the late Alma, supportive mother in law to Rick and Dave. An amazing grandma to 6 granddaughters, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She loved and supported all her family and lived life to the full saying
\"make the most of each day\".
From our hearts all our love, In our minds treasured memories, In our quiet hour's remembrance.
A private funeral service will take place.

I didn't leave a message at the time. I think my heart was so heavy and sad. But I would like to light a candle now in remembrance of a wonderful lady whose eldest daughter taught me to play the piano and whose youngest was and still is my very best friend. For all the curries I would never eat, for all the rides into Lincoln to save me bus money and for always making me welcome in their home. I know tongues may speak to human ears, but souls are reached by souls that speak to souls. I know you're listening!
