Of Hinckley, formerly Coventry, passed away peacefully on Sunday 23rd November 2025. Aged 84 years.

Much loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, friend & support to many, sadly missed.

The funeral service will take place at St Johns Church, Coventry Road, Hinckley on Friday 9th January at 12:45pm which will be immediately followed by refreshments at the Church. A private family committal will be held later in the day.

Donations in lieu of flowers are being gratefully received in Chris’s memory for two charities Chris supported over the years, Hinckley foodbank & Practical Action. Donations can be made by clicking the ‘make donation’ button above.

Deepest sympathy to Sue from Jay and Maria: Chris - what a guy. Always smiling, ever kind. A life lived in ministry to people in need - generously giving of all that he had in service to his Lord. He ran the race, he has gone home, he is at peace.

Chris lived his life in a manner which fully reflected his deep Christian faith in everything he did and said. A shining example to us all.

I have had the privilege of knowing Chris for many decades, both as a personal friend and business colleague.

Those of us who knew Chris will remember his smile and real deep personal commitment to each of us whatever the circumstances.

Chris I will always remember you as a kind, thoughtful, intelligent, considerate and proper gentleman always ready with a listening ear, a smile and laughter. In your final illness you showed bravery, humility and dignity.

Chris will be sadly missed by many, he was the most kind, compassionate and empathic man I have ever met and he was like a Dad to me, always saying I was “part of the Beckett family now” And I really did feel that.

I appreciate how painful his passing is going to be for his family. You can rest in peace now Chris in the arms of Jesus in heaven. I miss you so much! xx
