Bernard was such a character, I remember him when I was growing up, you never knew what to expect when walking into the Bingham household. He will be missed x

What a character Bernie was, I remember losing my African Grey parrot many years ago when I lived in Sapcote and Bernie went out down the local woods and found it!! I remember his famous pigs he kept to raise for eating but when the day arrived he had'nt got the heart and went up the local supermarket and got some beers in and he and the pigs got drunk!! such a lovely bloke, they dont make them like Bernie any more, RIP Bernie and my condolences go out to Claire and family

Although we didn't know Bernard well, we enjoyed the time we did get to spend with him. Especially the Christmas lunches (although maybe not the encouragement of Tom to keep singing more Christmas carols).

Assuming Bernard has an after-life. It's fair to say based on his past life, that his soul would be keen to follow the spirits of the ancient North American Red Indian and to join them for eternity in their "happy hunting ground." A rough diamond, with a kind welcoming smile, easy going and generous. Good hunting Bernard. Martin Kalnins

Bernard was a country man at heart. He loved to tell stories of old acquaintances and past events.
It was a pleasure and a privilege to have shared just a small part of his life.
Rest in peace.
