Dear Eileen, Barbara & Tony, John & Kate and all the Hodgson family,
We are thinking of you all and send our deepest sympathy and much love. We have many precious memories of Vic as a close friend of the Marsh family and those memories will live on forever. We wish we could be with you on Thursday to farewell Vic but will be with you all in spirit and in our prayers.

I had the pleasure of meeting Vic in 1981 when Jon and I were putting the same dormitory together at school.

Ever since then, Vic And indeed Eileen And have been a very important part of my life of which I am so so proud to have been part of and I’ve been so blessed to have known them and especially Vic as he became a bit of a surrogate father.

Not only Will I always remember the chats around the table where Vic would throw in a social hand grenade to see how his boys would discuss.

A beer may be a few more beers, lovely food from Eileen And a brandy from Vic And Monte Cristo cigar and a discussion into the Knight.

Then he met my wife Jan who he adored and our daughters went to Vic And Eileen‘s house and thoroughly enjoyed their time there and they were integral in our girls memories.

Time moves on and time moves quick and there were long gaps where we never saw each other, but it was never out of sight and out of mind.

It was lovely to have seen Vic And Eileen over the last few years with going out for a Sunday lunch and especially at Barb’s wedding.

Vic‘s passing leaves a big hole in my heart and indeed in Jon and the girls are deeply upset, but I look at Vic as being one of the most inspirational and wonderful people that has had a huge impact on my life and making me what I am.

My life is all the better for having met Vic and I thank him for everything he committed to me as a young man and through my working life.

He will rest in peace because he deserves to And Ann. I will always remember him to the end of my dying days.
