Dick! What a bloody legend you were! We are all completely devastated you have gone so soon! You had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Thankyou for everything over the years you have done, being the best papar and just being the kind hearted man you were. You will be truely missed!! Lots of love chels, summer and Kai. Xxx

The world of scootering brings together people from many different walks of life, some you just share a common interest with, whilst others become dear friends. Dick was most definitely the latter. From our first meeting at Grand Prix Scooters where we picked his brain about LML scooters, to working together at VMSC events, along with roadside repairs he was always ready with a smile and useful advice, not to mention just the right part from his cavernous garage to get you out of a hole! We may have lost one of life's gentlemen, but we have our memories to treasure.

I'm sat here at my computer wondering what to write and feeling desperately sad - how can you encapsulate your thoughts of such a wonderful human being on a screen?
We have known Dick for many years through the VMSC and over those years have come to respect and love both Dick and Sharon and had countless happy times with them over these years. More recently these meeting have been confined to getting together at the Stafford show, especially on setup day where we would work as a team and have the stand in shipshape order in quick time - well as long as Dick was not sharing his massive passion for scooters with anyone who happened by!!!
Then during the weekend he would speak to anyone who showed an interest in our hobby, speaking knowledgably and with great passion and enthusiasm - what an asset to the VMSC he was !!! It was at this years Stafford the news came through of his passing. and whilst it was expected it was a hammer blow and cast a shadow over the weekend and all his friends there were deeply saddened.
Over the years we had many chats about the world, the universe and anything in between, and even if we disagreed it was always done with respect and understanding. I am really going to miss this gentle, friendly and sensitive man, who as well as being a giant in the world of scootering was an amazing family man, and while we feel his loss greatly we can only imagine the loss to his amazing family, and we wish then strength and peace to move on. Dick will never be forgotten.

Dad/Papa, you were the most caring and loving person me and Arabella could ever have wished for. I couldn’t have asked for a better dad to me or a more amazing papa to Arabella. You showed her exactly how a real man should treat a daughter with love, kindness, respect, and protection. You were always there for me when I needed you most. You listened without judgment, gave me strength when I felt weak, and always knew the right words to say. I will forever be grateful for every moment we shared, every lesson you taught me, and every memory we made together.

You truly were my king.

Me and Arabella love and miss you more than words could ever explain. Life will never feel the same now that you’re gone, and the pain of losing you is something I carry every single day. I still find myself waiting for you to walk through my door like you always used to, wishing this was all just a bad dream. I’m not ready to let you go, and I don’t think part of me ever will be.

You had a great sense of humour, always accusing me of pinching your tools ironic when I wasn’t from Barwell. But I promise I’ll look after them for you. You have left a hole in a lot of hearts especially mine. Love you rest in peace my old lad. Xx

Thankyou for all your help and advice over the years, but most of all thankyou for your friendship! You will be sorely missed by all of us in the scootering world, it won't be the same without you mate. It truly was both a pleasure and a privilege to have known such a kind and caring person. Rest in peace my friend. Ride hard and ride free!!

Dick was a wonderful work colleague and I have fond memories of our work trips abroad. R.I.P
