Marina, I only met you a few times at our French class. I had earmarked you as someone that I would have liked to get to know. I am sad now that I won’t have the chance, but my instincts were correct. You were a lady worth knowing who lived a beautiful life. May you rest in peace.

We had the privilege of knowing Marina for well over 50 years, and throughout that time she remained one of the warmest, kindest and most selfless people we have ever met. Marina was a devoted wife to Roy and together they visited us in Germany during the 1980s. After Roy's sudden death 3 years ago Marina showed remarkable courage and resilience. She carried on with quiet determination, never dwelling on her own difficulties but alway thinking first of others. Her lively spirit, ready smile, laughter and wonderful sense of humour brought joy wherever she went. She was modest to the core, quick to laugh at herself, generous with praise for others and always willing to give her time, help and encouragement. Marina's warmth, kindness and friendship enriched the lives of so many. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and remembered with affection, gratitude and admiration. Jill & Erhard Rabenau

Marina was a dear friend, ever since she arrived in France with Roy more than 40 years ago. We have so many fond memories of our time in Vignes, in that house they loved so much. And of course, that wonderful trip to England in 2005.
We’ll really miss those video calls, where she was always smiling and full of joie de vivre.
On the day of the ceremony, our hearts and thoughts will be with you.
