You were my world, my anchor in life, you were my best friend, but most of all you are my mum who I love with all my heart may you sleep peacefully

How to start off one of these isn’t easy. There are so many things that one could say for special woman who “loves” to 100, she has achieved so much in life.
Served in a war, meeting her husband, having three beautiful daughters (I can only imagine what kind of house that could have been) having grand children and great grandchildren.

There is so much to mention, but I’ll keep it short. I remember coming to her house after school and sitting in front of the television and hearing the music lessons that my that my granddad used to teach. Always treating me to biscuits and sweets.
When I visited her in 2024, and I remembered a conversation that I had with her and she told me “Charles I just want to go..” which I replied “what do you mean?” Then she said “I’ve lived a long and happy life but I would like to go now, but I get this thing that you youngsters call ‘fear of missing out’.” to which I had to giggle and say “Nana you telling me the the one reason you are sticking around is because you get FOMO!?” And she said with all her chest “Yes!” To which we both had a laughed and then proceeded to have a Guinness.

So there you have it, the key to long, happy, successful, life is to have FOMO.
Well I can say Nana we are going to miss you very much, we are going to miss your sharp mind and your cheeky charm. I love you and rest easy.
Give granddad Norman a big hug and love from us all.
Love Charles

Marian what a privilege to have known and loved you. You are one very special lady who has touched the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand .
