Christmas should be a special time of the year when we come together to celebrate with loved ones. For most of us that will involve spending time with family although sadly for lots of people the festive season makes the loneliness and hardships they endure on a daily basis even tougher to cope with.

For that reason, Family Business United (FBU), a community of family firms from across the country, called upon its members to help those in need this Christmas. With the support of sponsors Plan Insurance Brokers, itself a FBU member and award winning family business, their sponsored taxi visited family firms across the country between December 4th – 8th to collect and distribute items donated to local good causes. As a proud family firm that has been serving our communities for over 100 years, and members of FBU, the team at G. Seller & Co were delighted to support the Santa Dash.

As Amy Barsby, Director of G. Seller & Co. explains "Our team were amazing and rallied to collect a fantastic amount of items that we were proud to donate to such a good cause. Boxes of blankets, coats, hats and gloves donated by our staff and their families will go a long way to improving the lives of those affected by homelessness during the colder months, as well as helping to make a difference to their lives this Christmas too."

What better way could there be to demonstrate these virtues than by coming together to help those most in need this Christmas? We have been delighted with the donations from all corners of the UK and as well as the items donated, we have been raising funds which will be used to purchase additional items that will be used to support the homeless in cities across the UK. Furthermore, donations have also been made to residential care homes, schools and a hospice so we have really been able to make a difference this Christmas.”
