G. Seller & Co. Ltd participated in the Kingscroft Bowls Club Coffee Morning to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s ninetieth birthday and helped to raise money for a worthy cause at the same time. G Seller & Co. Ltd is an independent family run firm of funeral directors and memorial masons in Hinckley and Newbold Verdon, owned and managed by David Barsby & Family and is now under the direction of the 3rd generation, Joseph. C. Barsby.
Joseph Barsby, Director of G. Seller & Co. Ltd, said: “The essence of community is at the heart of what we do and we were delighted to be part of the mornings event that raised £500 for the Dorothy Goodman School. We were happy to donate the main raffle prize towards such a community based occasion. As our charity of choice for 2016 members of our team are collectively trying to run 2,016 miles in 2016 to raise further funds for the Dorothy Goodman School too.”
The coffee morning included a cake stall as well as the opportunity to buy a range of donated items from books to jigsaw puzzles and the morning concluded with a raffle. As Joseph concludes, “Celebrating the birthday of the country’s longest serving monarch was a pleasure and there was a real sense of the community coming together over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.
Nothing could have been quintessentially more British, and to raise money for a good cause at the same time was the icing on the cake!”
