When we lose someone we love, grief takes over. Grief presents itself in many ways, and it can be very difficult trying to support someone through their grief. Talking after losing a loved one can seem daunting, especially at first. Just keep reminding them that you are there whenever they are ready. Often being alone is what is needed to process feelings after a death. When someone is ready to talk, encourage speaking of the lost loved one even if it’s upsetting. Remember, words aren’t always needed and sometimes it just helps to be there with the bereaved.
