The cost of a funeral is broken down into two parts; our professional services and disbursements.
Disbursements are 3rd party charges which are paid out on behalf of the family. These payments are to cover the cost of Crematoria or Cemetery, Church, Minister, Doctors Medical Certificate Fees (for cremation), newspaper, floral tributes, catering, printed stationery and catering.
Our company policy is that we respectfully ask that all 3rd party charges are paid prior to a funeral taking place.
Breakdown Of Our Charges
We will provide you with a comprehensive price list & itemised estimate.
This includes liaising with all third parties, involved in putting your funeral together, this includes but are not limited to the doctors surgery, hospital, minister, Church, crematorium or cemetery.
It also includes going through all the arrangements with you, at your pace. You will never be rushed and you don’t have to arrange everything in one go. The arrangements for your loved one’s funeral can be done in the comfort of your own home or in any of our funeral homes, whichever is most convenient for you.
Conveying Your Loved One Into Our Care
We will convey your loved one into our care individually from a local address, hospital or nursing home. This cost covers the services of the funeral operatives (24 hours), the vehicle and specialist conveyance equipment required, and the maintenance of facilities to which your loved one is conveyed to.
Caring For Your Loved One
This includes looking after your loved one as if they were one of our own family. We will wash and dress them in their own clothes or a choice of bespoke nightgowns. This also includes carrying out embalming treatment with your permission. This is all done by our team with no sub-contractors, dignity & respect is paramount.
Bespoke Coffin Range
We have designed a bespoke range of coffins that give you a wide variety of choice, befitting to the memory of your loved one. The range includes options from the traditional to contemporary, including bespoke interiors which are handmade in Britain.
Conductor & Pall Bearers
The conductor, where possible, will be the Funeral Director who has arranged the funeral with you, they will be your personal point of contact. We are passionate about providing complete continuity of care, there is only 1 chance and we will do everything we can to make sure everything is done to the highest standard.
Our team of Pall Bearers are there on the day to look after your loved one, drive the funeral vehicles and assist the conductor to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Provision of Motor Hearse & Limousine(s)
We pride ourselves on our modern fleet of Mercedes-Benz funeral vehicles.
Each limousine can carry up to 7 people and our large saloon can carry up to 4 people.
How to Pay
Funeral costs can be paid in several different ways:
From the Deceased’s estate
Most banks and building societies will issue a cheque or make arrangements to pay the funeral account directly if there is sufficient money in the account to cover the costs. On request we can provide a pro-forma invoice for all funeral expenses, and this can be presented along with a Certified Copy of the Entry of Death (obtained from the Registrar) to the Bank or Building Society.
Pre-Paid Funeral Plan
Pre-Paid Funeral Plans are becoming more popular, giving you the peace of mind that there is no uncertainty about final wishes.
If you are unsure whether your loved one has a Pre-Paid Funeral Plan, please contact us.
Insurance Policy or Pension Scheme
We recommend that you contact any of these providers to see if there is a potential payout.
We have partnered with Braemer Finance (part of Close Brothers) that means we can offer Finance for your loved ones funeral over 24, 36 or 48 months.
We will have to go through a Credit Application with you to make sure you are eligible.

Help with Funeral Costs
If you are on a low income and are worried about funeral expenses, you may be able to apply to the Department for Work and Pensions for financial assistance. We recommend that if you are considering a claim you notify us at the time of making funeral arrangements of your intention to do so. This will help us to assist you and to give you the best possible advice in these circumstances.
To qualify to apply you have to be in receipt of one or more of the following:
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance
- Disabled Person’s Tax Credit
- Working Person’s Tax Credit
Please be advised that claims are means tested and are not always guaranteed to be successful.
Unfortunately, if you did have a successful claim it is not likely to cover the complete cost of the funeral.
